Inclusive Communication is a two-way process, understanding and being understood.
It is often the case, that service providers consider access as the physical environment only, forgetting about the information they provide, how they communicate, and how they disseminate this information.
Inclusive Communication forms part of all service delivery, for example, wayfinding & signage, service information, promotion & marketing, websites, and importantly, emergency procedures.
As a society, we often assume that people understand, and often don’t ‘test’ the way we communicate, whether verbal or written. This can mean that a large number of people will not understand the service you provide, or even worse, not make use of it!
At Access Alba we provide experienced staff who can help you to ensure that your communication is inclusive, and that you provide clear and helpful solutions to meet the needs of disabled people with differing needs.
